HMW — Heritage & Engineering Origins

HMW’s heritage spans more than 120 years, influenced by the inventors and engineers of Kipp Engine Works and guided through six generations of family leadership. Its early innovations in rail and mechanical engineering helped provide the infrastructure and reliability that supported the growth of major industrial enterprises, including those built by Carnegie, Rockefeller, and J.P. Morgan.

Today, HMW continues this legacy, moving forward with state-of-the-art manufacturing, cloud computing, resource management, and modern engineering practices to meet the evolving needs of the mass transit industry.

HMW remains a steward of industrial heritage—built on mechanical connection, motion, and reliability, principles that have defined its work for over a century.
